Identitet i vrijednosti mladih u suvremenom društvu
 

Suvremeno društvo obilježeno je intenzivnim društvenim, kulturnim i tehnološkim promjenama koje značajno utječu na procese oblikovanja identiteta i vrijednosnih orijentacija mladih. Globalizacija, digitalna komunikacija, pluralizam svjetonazora te promjene u društvenim institucijama stvaraju kompleksno okruženje u kojem mladi oblikuju vlastite stavove, uvjerenja i životne perspektive. U takvom kontekstu pitanje identiteta i vrijednosti mladih postaje važno istraživačko područje za razumijevanje njihova odnosa prema religiji, obrazovanju i društvu.
Proces formiranja identiteta mladih odvija se na sjecištu tradicije i suvremenih društvenih utjecaja. S jedne strane, mladi preuzimaju kulturne i religijske obrasce koji su oblikovali prethodne generacije, dok su s druge strane izloženi različitim vrijednosnim sustavima i životnim stilovima koji proizlaze iz pluralnog i globaliziranog društvenog okruženja. Takvi procesi mogu poticati razvoj osobne zrelosti, ali također mogu dovesti do nesigurnosti u oblikovanju stabilnog identiteta i vrijednosnog sustava.
U tom kontekstu posebno je važna uloga odgojnoobrazovnih i religijskih institucija u prenošenju vrijednosti, oblikovanju moralnih stavova te poticanju društvene odgovornosti mladih. Obrazovanje, uključujući religijsko obrazovanje, može pridonijeti cjelovitom razvoju osobe potičući intelektualnu, etičku i duhovnu dimenziju identiteta. Istodobno, suvremeni mladi često razvijaju individualizirane pristupe religiji i duhovnosti, pri čemu tradicionalni oblici religijske pripadnosti mogu ustupati mjesto osobnim interpretacijama vjere i selektivnom prihvaćanju religijskih normi.
Razumijevanje identiteta i vrijednosti mladih stoga zahtijeva interdisciplinarni pristup koji povezuje teologiju, pedagogiju, sociologiju, psihologiju i religijske studije. Istraživanja u ovom području mogu pridonijeti boljem razumijevanju izazova s kojima se mladi suočavaju te potaknuti razvoj odgojnoobrazovnih i pastoralnih pristupa koji podržavaju razvoj odgovornog, kritičkog i društveno angažiranog identiteta mladih.
Tema „Identitet i vrijednosti mladih u suvremenom društvu“ otvara prostor za znanstvene priloge koji se bave promjenama religioznosti među mladima, utjecajem obrazovanja na oblikovanje vrijednosnih sustava, odnosom između religijskog i društvenog identiteta te ulogom religije i obrazovanja u suvremenim procesima socijalizacije mladih.

Identity and Values of Young People in Contemporary Society
 
Contemporary society is characterized by profound social, cultural, and technological transformations that significantly influence the processes through which young people shape their identities and value orientations. Globalization, digital communication, the pluralism of worldviews, and changes within social institutions create a complex environment in which young people form their attitudes, beliefs, and life perspectives. In such a context, the question of youth identity and values becomes an important field of research for understanding their relationship to religion, education, and society.
The process of identity formation among young people unfolds at the intersection of tradition and contemporary social influences. On the one hand, young people inherit cultural and religious patterns shaped by previous generations; on the other hand, they are exposed to diverse value systems and lifestyles emerging from a pluralistic and globalized social environment. Such dynamics may foster the development of personal maturity, but they can also lead to uncertainty in the formation of a stable identity and value system.
In this context, the role of educational and religious institutions is particularly significant in transmitting values, shaping moral attitudes, and encouraging the social responsibility of young people. Education, including religious education, can contribute to the integral development of the person by nurturing the intellectual, ethical, and spiritual dimensions of identity. At the same time, contemporary youth often develop individualized approaches to religion and spirituality, whereby traditional forms of religious affiliation may give way to personal interpretations of faith and a selective acceptance of religious norms.
Understanding the identity and values of young people therefore requires an interdisciplinary approach that brings together theology, pedagogy, sociology, psychology, and religious studies. Research in this field can contribute to a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by young people and encourage the development of educational and pastoral approaches that support the growth of responsible, critical, and socially engaged youth identities.
The theme “Identity and Values of Young People in Contemporary Society” invites scholarly contributions that explore changes in youth religiosity, the influence of education on the formation of value systems, the relationship between religious and social identity, and the role of religion and education in contemporary processes of youth socialization.
